Luxurious and relaxing

Pros: Staff were excellent, very welcoming and attentive. Gym was great, fully equipped and had extra little bits like snacks and flavoured water. Outdoor pool and garden was also amazing.

Iconic hotel and 5* staff; expensive and the food is hit and miss

Pros: - wonderful staff (thank you, Stella!) - iconic hotel

Cons: - the hotel’s beach club was closed to guests both days we visited (for a wedding) - the F&B was poor (one-button coffee at the garden cafe and the a la carte breakfast was laughably bad) - on balance, it feels overpriced (but it is Cannes, so I guess normal standards don’t apply )

Exceptional

Pros: This was my first stay at the Carlton since its refurbishment about two years ago, and it surpassed my expectations in every way. Although it’s a large property, it never felt overwhelming, and even having to cross the road to reach the beach was no inconvenience at all. The service was outstanding—staff members even greeted us by name despite the number of guests they host. Beach service, as well as the facilities by the beach and on the terrace, were excellent, and the food was exceptional. The promenade in front of the Carlton is beautifully maintained, lined with wonderful cafés and restaurants, plus fantastic shopping opportunities. We truly can’t wait to return—this may just be our new favourite hotel in the South of France.
